Bible, CHECK. Passport, CHECK. Plane tickets, CHECK. Malaria pills, CHECK. Ghana, here we come....

We’re packed, and 27 of us are ready to hop on a plane to Ghana! 17 young people and 10 leaders are excited and ready to go on the first ever youth-led Youth Alpha GAT.

So what exactly will we be doing for 10 days in Ghana and what is a Youth Alpha GAT?!!

Global Alpha Training (GAT) is training for local churches across the world who want to run the Alpha course. A Youth Alpha GAT is where the focus is on Youth Alpha (so for 11-18 year olds).

In the next 10 days, training is going to be given by the young people who’ve already run Youth Alpha for their mates at their church (Holy Trinity Brompton).

They’re travelling to Ghana to help empower and equip people in the towns and villages who want to know how to run a Youth Alpha course themselves for their friends too.

We also get to help out with different social action projects, including work with a juvenile prison, an orphanage, a World Vision children’s home and more (including playing football with the local street children!).

We can’t wait to see different parts of life in this part of the world, and become more aware of the global need around us.

Watch out in the weeks to come for stories... We’ll keep you posted with what went on. For now, check out the video by clicking on the plane above.
