NINJA (YOUTH ALPHA GAMES)
Kung Fu Panda and Youth Alf recommend.......
You will need:
Absolutely nothing – (more ninja skills from Youth Alpha right there.)
How it works:
Firstly demonstrate the five actions below to your group – after you demonstrate each action get the group to do it back to you to make sure they have learnt it.
You need to make a sound for each one that has to be done with each action – so have a think about that beforehand.
1. SNAKE – you put your arm in a snake shape – so forearm is upright from the elbow with the hand forming the head of the snake. Like a cobra.
2. CRANE – the classic stand on one leg ‘crane’ pose from ‘Karate Kid’ slash Morpheus from ‘The Matrix’ move
3. EGG – form an egg with your arms. Your arm position is as if you are hugging someone almost (but they aren’t there!) and making an egg shape
4. TIGER – step forward with your hands as claws and your face like a tiger
5. TEMPLE – bring your hands together over your head with a clap, making a shape of a temple roof
When everyone has the moves & sounds committed to memory you can start.
The leader calls out 1,2,3 and then forms one of the five actions on the count of 3 – the leader selects the action at random. At the same time (on the same count of 3), everyone in the group has to perform one of the five actions as well.
Those people in the group who do the same action as the leader are out and have to sit down, and the process repeated until you have an ultimate winner.
The leader must keep the game rolling at a fast pace for it to be really fun. The leader also has to ensure that the room is synchronised to do the actions on the count of 3 – no cheating or delaying to see what the leader has done first!
You may like to do it with two leaders at the front, to double the chance of people in the group being out!
