Youth Alpha Leaders’ Guide

This is a brand-new version of the Leaders' Guide, released in February 2010. It is a fully comprehensive guide with all you need to know to run a fantastic Youth Alpha course. The Leaders' Guide contains 4 main sections:

Each talk has several teaching points, and each teaching point has lots of different options for illustrating those points – including interactive games, movie clips, YouTube clips and much more. 

Section 2 - How to run a course: all that you need to know to plan your course and make it happen. This includes how to run a Launch Event, the course itself, and the Weekend/Day Away. If it isn’t answered here, it probably isn’t a question worth asking.

Section 3 - Expert Advice: twelve articles from leading youth ministry professionals covering the different aspect of running a Youth Alpha course – contributing authors include Mike Pilavachi, Pete Greig, Gavin Calver and Mark Oestreicher.

Section 4 - Team Training: two talk outlines to help you train and equip your team to run Youth Alpha.

exploRE

ExploRE is the ideal classroom tool. Based on Youth Alpha, it is a 12 week programme providing 11-14 year olds with an overview of the Christian faith.

ExploRE is designed to be used by teachers, youth workers and church workers who want to take the message of Jesus into schools. Leaders have the opportunity to outline what they believe, and students the opportunity to explore and discuss their own views as well as listening to those of others. Written by experienced teachers and filled with fun activities, it fits seamlessly into the national guidelines for teaching RE at Key Stage 3.

Youth Manuals

The ‘magazine style’ manuals have been designed to appeal to a diverse youth audience and contain the main content of the Alpha course. There are two different versions – one designed for ages 11-14 [red manual], and the other for 15-18 [blue manual]. These are recommendations for ages – either manual can be used to best suit your group.
