Youth Alpha

We love being on the road. Especially when we get to meet guys and girls who are passionate about young people and evangelism! Tom Clark is a gleaming example. We met him on the Tour back in November; he shares with us his thoughts...

"Alpha is a brilliant tool enabling people to discuss and ask questions on God, faith and the meaning of life.

There are so many young people who don’t know Jesus, that the prospect that there is a tool which could help them find Him always entices me to find out more.

I’m a youth worker in York and heard about the Youth Alpha and Student Alpha Training Tour through a Youth Alpha Adviser in York. I jumped at the chance to get involved and knew some of our young people would be up for this training too.

The training day was a huge success and extremely helpful. It was so well prepared and the day was incredibly accessible to young people, students and leaders. I really enjoyed the games, seeing many of the youth leaders trying to beat young people....

Why did we go? Well, just before Easter 2012 the youth workers in York will be doing mission together like never before. Called ‘Hope Invasion’ - we are so excited for what God may do through us during the two weeks of schools missions. It ends in a BIG EVENT on Wednesday 4th April with performances by bands such as LZ7.

As follow up we are going to encourage everyone interested to get involved in Youth Alpha courses taking place all over the city.

The idea is that everyone will have a Youth Alpha taking place near them with a couple of courses running centrally in York as well.
