Youth Alpha for Confirmation

Youth Alpha can work very well as a pre-confirmation course, encouraging teenagers to ask questions and discover what they really think about their faith.

We have seen Youth Alpha successfully incorporated in the run up to confirmation across different denominations, with the specifics of confirmation being taught additionally at the end of the course.

Youth Alpha can also work well as a post-confirmation course, encouraging those who may be wondering ‘what next?’ to continue exploring the questions they may have. If you are a teenager who has been through confirmation, then you may want to run Youth Alpha for others who are either thinking of being confirmed, or who are already confirmation candidates.

As the emphasis in Youth Alpha is on small group discussion, we have found that, after confirmation, the group will often want to carry on meeting. Whether this is in a church or school context, it is a great opportunity to keep exploring these important issues together. Youth Alpha should always be run with a view to having a follow-up plan.
